We continue to look forward to the annual cleanup of the sea turtle
nesting beach located within Long Key State Park. We will be
removing debris from this beach, which is only accessible by boat
(transportation will be provided) so that Momma Turtle and her
baby hatchlings will have a safe journey on our Keys shore.
Complimentary cookout will be provided afterwards
by Friends of the Islamorada Area State Parks.
Here's what to bring: GLOVES, Sun Protection
(including hat & long sleeve shirt. Sun screen
will be provided by University of Florida Alumni Association)
& your absolutely worst shoes for wading ashore
(NO flip flops, please).
AND as an extra feature this year,
SAVE-A- TURTLE of the Florida Keys
will have their Sea Turtle Educational Trailer
available for you to see and have your questions answered
at the cookout. This is a great
traveling exhibit you’ll want to see first hand!
